I Hate to Say "I Told You So" But. . .

I hate the fact that we-- I and so many other conservative bloggers and pundits-- were right: we are seeing the beginning of what will be a very, very liberal White House.

The appointments thus far are not surprising. Disappointing, yes, but surprising, no. If voters had been paying attention to more than the wonderful words coming out of Mr. Obama's mouth, they would have known that, based on his record, liberal appointmees would be forthcoming.

As my friends at Human Life Review have noted however, there is some good news. While there is much to mourn and the loss of this election is great, we have truth on our side and we always will. Whether the electorate actually cares to take notice will take a great deal of work and prayer.

God Is In Control

I know that today is disappointing for many but remember: God is in control.

It's easy to feel that last night and today are harbingers of doom but that is not the case. We survived eight years of Bill Clinton. We survived his first two years in office with a Democrat-controlled House, Senate and White House. We will survive this as well.

I have one request: if you are not involved in the movement, get involved.

Okay, Maybe I'm Wrong

Despite her win in Puerto Rico (which cannot help her with delegates), Hillary said yesterday that she was weighing her options but that her "political obituary" had not been written yet.

Sounds to me like she is possibly signalling her withdrawal. Even so, I think this has gone on long enough that many in the Democratic Party will be angry at what they will perceive as poor treatment of Hillary.

I do think that the Democratic Convention will be of interest.

Regardless of who the nominee is, both candidates have professed their allegiance to the pro-abortion ideology of the party platform. The issue of abortion has far more reaching implications than most people realize. Either Democrat, if elected to office, will be placed in a position to overturn Mexico City Policy, lift the ban on embryo-destroying stem cell research and a whole host of other related issues. And those are just policy-related issues--if the Democrats remain in charge of Congress, pro-life legislation will likely never see the light of day.

NARAL Endorses Obama

Yesterday, hot on the heels of the John Edwards' endorsement, NARAL Pro-Choice America endorsed Barack Obama as well.

From the press release:

Today, NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC is proud to endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president. Sen. Obama has been a strong advocate for a woman's right to choose throughout his career in public office. He steadfastly supports and defends a woman's right to make the most personal, private decisions regarding her reproductive health without interference from government or politicians.

Yup, Obama is a liberal's liberal. To everyone who thinks he might not be that bad on abortion if he becomes president-- think again.

Edwards Endorses Obama

In a not-so-surprising move, it is being reported that John Edwards is endorsing Barack Obama.

Edwards comes across as personable and folksy but he's just as pro-abortion as other leading Democrats. Don't be deceived-- Edwards wouldn't endorse Obama unless he agreed with him on core Democratic issues-- including abortion.

In 2003, John Edwards spoke before the NARAL Pro-Choice America Dinner that was held that January to mark the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Edwards said:

It's an honor to be here. . .to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. . . .The right to choose is an essential ingredient to real equality in America. Until we recognize that fully, finally, without any equivocation, we can never reach the promise of America.

. . .

And so you have my word tonight that I will help lead a fight to pass a federal freedom of choice act so that your right to choose is guaranteed and protected no matter what the [U.S. Supreme] Court does.

Barack Obama's comments on abortion and the so-called right to choose match so closely with the words of John Edwards they could be interchangeable.

Beware, a vote for Barack Obama will roll back the work accomplished on the right to life. There is no way anything Barack Obama says can be construed as pro-life. If elected, I guarantee his first days in office would include executive orders overturning pro-life policies established under previous administrations.

Planned Parenthood and NARAL will likely walk into his office within the first month with a laundry list of legislative issues they want addressed.

And he will make those legislative goals part of his top priorities.
