On Palin

I have to weigh in on the Palin attacks.

First of all, the people who get involved in the campaigns and become staff are professionals. They move from campaign to campaign; when they lose they go on to the next campaign.

Second, McCain and Palin are in the spotlight and one or both will continue to lead Republicans through the wilderness of at least the next two years.

Campaign staff have nothing to lose, really, except their reputation for wins. So what to do when you lose?

Start pointing fingers-- which is exactly what they are doing.

This needs to stop and stop now. Campaign staffers may not care about Palin or what the GOP looks like in two years but the rest of us do.

Palin is pro-life to the core and may very well be the one to help reunite this party. We will need John McCain in the Senate to do everything he can to block pro-abortion legislation. Both candidates have jobs to do now.

Personally, if I were thinking about running for office, I would find out who the likely sources were for the leaks and cross them off my list of potential campaign staffers.
