Christmas Eve

Sorry for still not posting as regularly as I was a few months ago-- our internet connection at school went down again for a few days and our connection here at home has been less than reliable this week (no, it's not DSL--we have fiber optics now).

Here is a good article about the Catholic vote by NRLNews editor, Dave Andrusko, that I wanted to link to last week and couldn't.

I was blessed with the gifts of severals students late last week. A couple of students gave me the ubiquitous coffee mug (I give those to my kids' teachers too!) but one of the mugs had my favorite verse printed on it. When I was in college, my boss was the assistant pastor of the university's home church and, when asked to close in prayer, he would frequently use this verse as the prayer:

May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)

In this, the season of giving, may we remember the greatest gift of all: God's love and grace toward us in the giving of His Son, Jesus, to be our Savior.

Dave Andrusko, editor of NRLNews, is not only a former co-worker but also a friend. He writes a daily column at the National Right to Life website called "Today's News and Views" that covers issues related to the right to life.

Today's column is about Barack Obama and how amazing it is that despite his record on abortion, he somehow lulls people into believing that he's not that bad on abortion.

Dave concludes his column by writing:

On Monday I'll talk about Obama's handling of abortion in [Obama's famous "Call to Renewal" Keynote Address from June 28, 2006, where Obama talks about the "connection between religion and politics."] and in the chapter from his book "The Audacity of Hope" where he expands on his thinking. Obama is wrong on virtually every count--insultingly so, in some instances. But, give the man his due, Obama's language is invitational: brothers and sisters, let me help you rethink every pro-life scruple you've ever had.

If you listened to the music and not the lyrics, you'd be on your feet inviting Obama to become a member of the pro-life choir. That, of course, is why he is so dangerous.
