NIH Chief Says Ban on Embryonic Stem Cell Funding is Bad for Science

The head of the National Institutes of Health told congress that the president's ban of federal funding of embryonic stem cell research is holding America back.

What crock.

Thus far, adult stem cell research has been the field to show promise. Even with private and state monies being poured into the field, embryo-destroying stem cell research has yielded no cures.

It reminds me of that momism, "If your friends decided to jump off the roof, would you? Just because they do something doesn't mean you should." Just because other countries want to pour resources into this field of research doesn't make it right or good.

The president banned only federal funding not the actual research-- but researchers want more: they want you to pay their bills.
